Sebring

Sebring is a rather amazing city located in Highlands County Florida (Central Region). It has been nicknamed 'The City on the Circle', and this is a reference to Circle Drive in the center of the Historic District.

This track holds an incredible amount of history, in 1959 it hosted the Formula One United States Grand Prix, but it is better known for what is called the 12 Hours of Sebring.

In 1950 the track opened and a number of different would famous drivers staked their claim on the asphalt. The 12 hours of Sebring is an endurance race that many drivers try to undertake.

It has often been known as a preparation for what is known as the 24 hours of Le Mans, and is a great test of a vehicle's reliability. Tom Kristensen is the one driver who managed to win the race five times in 1999, 2000, 2005, 2006, and finally 2009.

This city does of course have much more to offer...

If you like golfing then you will most certainly want to take a look at the Spring Lake Golf Resort. This resort hosts the world's largest green and sits just sixty miles south of Disney World.

The resort offers you a view of some of Florida's natural beauty as it borders Lake Istokpoga. The resort also sits fairly close to a movie theater, shopping malls, and of course the Raceway for those who are interested.

If you happen to be looking play a greater amount of golf the Inn of The Lakes offers a variety of packages with multiple golf courses (eleven in all), you could play golf in a different course every day of your stay here. At the inn you will be able to enjoy yourself in a beautiful 160 room hotel that offer breakfast with most golf packages and even try out the swimming pool if you are so inclined.

If you aren't a huge fan of hotels and would like to look for another type of accommodation, you might search for a good bed and breakfast such as the Lake Veronica Guest Lodge. This is a great B&B featuring amazing customer service and accomodation. Many people have stated that this is one of the best places to stay when you are in or near this area of Florida.

There are plenty of things for you to do when you come to visit the area. Aside from the race track and the shopping mall, you could take a look at the Lost Mines of Atlantis. Though it is not an active mine, it is certainly a great place for tourists to walk through and even search for their own gemstones. It won't keep you busy for your entire trip, but it is a great way to spend a given afternoon.

As you can see, this is is an amazing place to visit. Golf courses, shopping malls, the race track, and a number of other historical sites to observe.

Make your next vacation a great one in Florida!
