Panama City

Panama City

Dotted with vintage architectural homes and structures, this beautiful community offers an abundance of coastal delights for those native to the area as well as tourists who love visiting.

Its white sandy beaches and clear aquamarine waters and stunning sunrises and sunsets are always a pleasure to behold and enjoy. The area is full of fantastic harbors, shallow-water coves and deep inland pockets that share a rich and wonderful history.

A Brief History:

Back in 1513 when Ponce de Leon first visited and named Florida, there were Native Americans living in this area. In 1821, the United States purchased Florida from Spain. In 1908, the first train arrived and the area has been growing ever since with the city being incorporated the next year.

The Gulf Coast Highway or Highway 98 was completed in the 30s as well as bridges connecting the beaches. Along with the completion of this highway came a leap in the development of tourism in the area. Today you will find this area blooming and thriving with many delights to explore and discover.

Entertainment and Recreation:

Strategically located between the Caribbean and the Pacific Ocean this area has no lack of entertainment and recreational activities. No matter your particular interests there is always something fun to do while in this area.

For instance, you may enjoy the Pier Park Summer Concert Series, the Schooners' Annual LobsterFest, Thunder Beach Autumn Rally, Panama City Beach Seafood, Wine and Music Festival, Shag-A-Rama, Emerald Coast Cruizin', the Ironman Triathlon and WonderWorks an indoor recreational retreat.

Of course, you may also want to enjoy the Friday Fest in Downtown Panama City, Gulf World Marine Park, Shipwreck Island Water Park, Blast on the Bay Songwriter's Festival, Carillon Beach's "Groovin' on the Green, the USFA World Series as well as the Haunted Trail & Pumpkin Patch and so much more.

It is a wonderful choice for celebrating and vacationing during Spring Break and the 4th of July on the beach. Many individuals travel far and wide to take advantage of a wellness vacation or a spiritual retreat.

Actually this area is teaming with interesting and worthwhile entertainment and recreational activities that it would take a book to list and describe them all.

If you are in the mood for shopping and dinning, this area offers some of the most charming shops and restaurants that you can enjoy from antiques and down home cooking to more modern dishes and items to take home with you as treasure.

Accommodations:
