Key West

Key West is one of the most popular places to visit in sunny Florida. This part of Florida has so much history behind it and visitors just can't seem to get enough of it.

President Truman loved the area as well as the weather so much that he chose this for the home of the Winter White House. It is said that he spent a total of 175 days there during his 11 visits to the area and continued to visit even after he left office.

Truman Compound

Many famous authors such as Ernest Hemingway and Tennessee Williams chose this area for their inspiration to write some of the world's most famous novels.

Hemingway was living above a Ford dealership waiting for his Roadster to arrive when he wrote A Farewell to Arms. He spent a great deal of time there, completing such books as; For Whom the Bell Tolls, and The Snows of Kilimanjaro until he and his wife Pauline divorced in 1939.

The Island is filled with so much to see and so much to do that you will not know where to begin when you visit…

Many people love to embark one of the many boating such as the Glass bottom boat, taking in the sites of the water while watching the dolphins play. If you love golf then try your luck at a round of golf at the breath taking public golf course.

If you just want to relax and take in the sun then hit the beach with the kids where you can play in the waves or build a sand castle with the kids.

There are plenty of water activities to keep you busy for days such as scuba diving, parasailing, snorkeling and of course, fishing. End your day with a nice quiet walk on the beach while you watch the sunset, putting the perfect ending on your day.

Curry Mansion Inn

There are a number of bed and breakfasts to stay at such as Duval Gardens located right on Duval Street or the historic Harbor Inn located in Old Town.

Marreros Guest Mansion shows you the true spirit of Key West, taking you back in time, showing you what true island hospitality is really like. This mansion was built in 1889 by Francisco Marrero who was trying to get the young love of his life to come to the island...

Apparently he was successful as she married him and lived in the mansion with him for the rest of their lives. Some say that you can still here her checking on things in the night, making sure that all is as it should be.

If you are planning a visit to Key West, don't forget to check out the museums while you stroll through town. The weather here is perfect year round so it is the perfect vacationing spot any time of the year.
