Daytona Beach Golf Club
600 Wilder Blvd., Daytona Beach, Florida 32114
Daytona Beach Golf Club, the South golf course is the original 18 holes and is a Donald Ross design.
Much of the originality of the design is evident. It is a very sporty golf course; the tee shot being very forgiving, but approaches are demanding if you want to get close to the flag stick for a birdie attempt.
Florida Oaks and tall pines with a little water are a great feature on this golf course.
The North golf course was built and designed by Slim Deathridge in 1946. Mr. Deathridge was Head Professional and Manager of the club at the time.
He laid out the original routing of the golf course and supervised construction of the original 18. In 1997, the golf course was re-built.
All greens, bunkers, and tees were redone. The result is a very challenging golf experience that winds its way through dense Florida oak and pine.
There is more water in play and the greens offer more undulation on this course, which adds to a greater overall challenge. It is generally recognized that this course is the toughest test of the two courses.
